What is a chemical peel?
Chemical peels improve the appearance of the skin by applying a chemical solution to exfoliate the outer layers. The peel removes damaged skin cells, promoting the growth of new, healthier skin. This treatment is commonly used to address concerns such as acne scars, fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin tone, and hyperpigmentation.
What to expect at your appointment?
During an assessment, our esthetician will determine the best solution and depth of the peel. The practitioner will apply peel solution in layers, and you may feel a mild stinging sensation, tightness, and warmth.
Like most of the services at Awaken Skin + Body, the number of treatments will be determined by your individual skin concerns and level of correction needed. Also, chemical peels are most impactful when done in combination with our other services like laser and microneedling.

Appropriate care after your treatment will ensure the best results and minimizes the risk of side effects.
Redness, irritation, or peeling during the healing process are likely.
Use only the recommended or provide aftercare skincare.
Avoid hot tubs and saunas for 24 hours.
Limit alcohol consumption for the remainder of the day.
Sun sensitivity post-treatment, requiring diligent sunscreen use.
Do not use chemical or physical exfoliants.
